June Special Events Cancelled- Village of Allouez

After much consideration and discussions, the Village of Allouez has unfortunately made the decision to cancel both the June 12 Movie in the Park and the Pooches and Pints: Summer Kick-Off Event set for June 18. We do not make these cancellations lightly, but the health and safety of all our participants, vendors, volunteers and staff are at the upmost importance and feel it is the proper course of action at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause anyone.

Looking to the future we still hold out hope that our scheduled Movies in the Park events for July & August and our Barktoberfest event in October will be able to run, so please stay tuned to the Village of Allouez website and social media for updates.

Allouez Business Information During Pandemic

Allouez Restaurants and Bars During COVID-19

The Village of Allouez is proud of the many restaurants and bars that call our community home. We have listed these businesses and the services they are currently offering to help everyone continue showing support and appreciation during this time. All places are assumed to be working with online food ordering companies (e.g. Uber Eats, Grubhub, EatStreet, etc.). Please remember to tip staff and drivers.

COVID-19 Business Resources

The Village of Allouez recognizes the uncertainty and burden that COVID-19 is placing on businesses. We have been in communication with leaders at the Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, and state legislators to find relief for our businesses. We have been assured that more help is coming and to be patient during this extraordinary and uncharted time. We will be updating the content regularly so please keep checking back for the latest information.

Fire Pits - Be Neighborly

With warmer weather hopefully approaching means you or your neighbors may be spending evenings relaxing around a fire in the backyard.

To do so, a permit must be on file, fires must be properly handled and the smoke can not cause problems for the neighbors. While some people love backyard fires, exposure to the wood smoke for others can cause health problems such as burning eyes, runny nose and bronchitis or can aggravate pre-existing heart and respiratory conditions. Or they may not appreciate not being able to open their windows without their home smelling of wood smoke.

Be a good neighbor (use only properly dried wood – minimize smoke and its impact on neighbors – limit the hours of burning so your party doesn’t ruin someone else’s night).

NOTE:  To stop the spread of coronavirus, health and government officials recommend avoiding large gatherings and maintaining a distance of 6 feet from other people. This reduces the chance of contact with those knowingly or unknowingly carrying the infection.

If you have concerns about smoke emitting from a neighbor’s fire pit, speak to your neighbor about the matter. If the smoke remains an issue, call the Brown County Sheriff’s Department Non-Emergency number at 920-391-7450

Permit Applications are available at the Village Hall, 1900 Libal Street or can be downloaded from our website (http://www.villageofallouez.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Outdoor-Fire-Pit.pdf) and returned to the Village Hall.
