New Fitness Equipment at Green Isle Park!

Zone is Now Open
The new fitness equipment at Green Isle Park has
been installed and is now open for use. The
Green Isle Fitness Zone is located within Green Isle Park at 900 Greene Avenue
in Allouez. It is conveniently located along the trail loop on the east side of
the park for those exercise enthusiasts to be able to get a full workout in
whether it is alone or with friends.
The Fitness Zone has ten exercise stations including double chest press, double lat pulldown, double leg press, sit up bench, double dip, chin up bars, rowing machine, push up bar, ski machine, and a sky walker. Each station has user instructions attached explaining proper operation as well as the targeted muscle group. This fitness equipment will be enjoyed by the community for many years to come.

An absentee ballot can be mailed to you by applying online
through MyVote.WI.gov or by
filling out and returning an Application for Absentee Ballot to the
Clerk’s Office. All mail requests must be received no later than March 30th
by 5 pm.

a volunteer member of a Village committee, board or commission. Get involved
and play an active role.
COMMITTEES
Parks, Recreation & Forestry
Committee: Responsible for making recommendations on the park budget and
other Park and Recreation issues. (Meets 4th Tuesday of the month at
5:30 p.m.)
Economic Development Committee: Act as an advisory committee to the Village
Board and staff for the continual improvement of the business climate in
Allouez, consistent with the existing residential character of the community.
Primary focus is placed on business retention, business expansion, business
recruitment, & business networking opportunities. (Meets 1st
Friday of the month at 8:00 a.m.)
Historic Preservation Committee: Work closely with the Historic Allouez
Society and the newly formed Brown County Trust for Historical Preservation to
jointly work on promoting awareness, education, and protection of our history.
(Meets quarterly at 6:00 p.m. on 4th Wednesday- January, April, July
& October)
Public Works Committee: Provide oversight of the public works
annual budget and funding for capital projects, input to operations services
and long-range planning, and such other matters as requested by the Village
Board. (Meets monthly at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday following 1st
Village Board Meeting)
COMMISSIONS
Plan Commission: Responsible for
review of plats, changes in zoning ordinances and recommendations on zoning
requests. (Meets 4th Monday each month at 6:00 p.m.)
BOARDS
Board of Appeals: Responsible for
granting or denying special exceptions to the zoning code. (Meets 2nd
Monday of each month at 5:15 p.m. if petitions are filed)
Board of Review: Responsible for making decisions on property
assessment. (Meets once a year)
Board
of Ethics: Responsible for reviewing any
ethics complaints filed and reviewing the Village’s Ethics Code. (Meets once a
year & as needed basis)

Be Active 2023 Wisconsin Community Challenge
Can Allouez rank higher against other
communities this year, or even better take home the gold?! Wisconsin
communities have joined the friendly competition to conquer the most active
minutes during the month of March. The “Be Active Wisconsin” Community
Challenge invites all community members to participate in a virtual challenge
to promote active lifestyles, connect people to the outdoors by encouraging use
of our parks/trail systems, and engage Wisconsin communities in a friendly
competition!
Competition runs March 1-March 31,
registered participants in Allouez will participate as one team to win, all
active minutes count (not just running or walking). While there is a personal
goal of 200 minutes a week to help motivate and to give you a goal to strive
for, there are no requirements and no awards given for personal goals so that
you can customize it based on your needs.
Participants
will log their minutes weekly via a google docs link. The link to the form will
be emailed to all registered participants on March 1. Updates on Allouez’s
progress will be released weekly through our Facebook page.
All
active minutes count, so let’s get moving Allouez!!

No Overnight Parking During Winter Months
§424-12 OVERNIGHT
PARKING DURING WINTER MONTHS
No person shall park a vehicle on any street in
the Village between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. during the five-month period from
November 1 through March 31 of the following year.
The Village Administrator has the authority to call off or suspend the seasonal
parking ban ordinance, weather permitting, after March 15th of any
one year.
Street parking ban is due to winter street
cleaning. Parking ban will be enforced; no warnings given.
Violators will be ticketed $20.00 and have 5 days to pay the fine. If the
fine is not paid within 5 days, the fine increases to $30.00. After
11 days the fine will increase to $40.00. After 30 days, the fine is
$55.00 and a suspension of your plates and registration will be issued and sent
to the DOT.
