Village of Allouez Prescription Drop-Off Day- October 27th

On October 27th, 2018, the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) will coordinate a Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative throughout Wisconsin. The Prescription Drug Take-Back Day goal is to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposal of prescription medications, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of these medications. Unused prescription medications in homes create a public health and safety concern, because they can be accidentally ingested, stolen, misused, and abused.
In coordination with the Brown County Drug Task Force and the WI Department of Justice, the Village of Allouez will be accepting unused/unwanted prescriptions and over the counter medications for proper disposal.
When: Saturday, October 27th, 8:00 A.M.-2:00 P.M.
Where: Allouez Village Hall
1900 Libal St.
Green Bay, WI 54301
Please contact Directed Enforcement Officer Jason Vogel at (920)448-2800 Ext. 109 or by e-mail vogel_jp@co.brown.wi.us with any questions or visit DoseOfReality.gov to learn how to properly package your medication for this event.

Fall Clean Up Notice

The Allouez Public Works Department will begin fall curbside collection of loose leaves and garden waste on Monday, October 15, 2018. This material can NOT be placed to the curb prior to Monday, October 8, 2018. Loose leaves and yard waste placed to the curb before October 8, 2018, is subject to collection fees.
During the week of October 8th brush will be picked up in the Village on your garbage day.
Loose leaves and garden waste material should be placed on the terrace (not in the street) and should NOT be mixed with brush. Bagged material or mixed material will not be picked up. Please pile loose leaves in an open area of terrace away from trees, posts, and mailboxes to assist in ease of collection.
Weather permitting, collection will continue for five (5) weeks and end on Thursday, November 15, 2018. All leaves and yard waste left for collection must be out to the curb no later than Sunday, November 11th. After November 15th, residents must dispose of their own yard waste.
Residents are reminded that raking leaves into the street increases pollution of storm water and may cause flooding by blocking drainage structures. Most importantly, piles of leaves in the street are a dangerous attraction to young children. It is not possible to accurately tell residents the exact day their yard waste will be picked up, but once collection begins information will be available on the Village’s website or you may contact the Village Hall during office hours. The Village yard waste site is located at the block of 911 LeBrun Street near the East River. The site will remain open per schedule through December 8, 2018 weather permitting.
